It was with great honour and pride that Jordan hosted a hugely successful first FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) last year. It was an occasion that had been 50 years in the making and the overwhelming feedback that we received showed that we did not let the FIA WRC family down. But now our focus returns to the event that positioned us as a regional hub for motorsporting excellence in the first place. Our FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC) round has long been considered as its best organised event and once again we look forward to welcoming our friends from across the region from 29-31 October 2009. While the regional championship may not enjoy the hype and global appeal of the WRC, it is still integral to the success of the sport here and we will deliver another world-class spectacle for the Arab World’s best drivers and all motor sporting supporters alike. The event will be held on routes we created for the WRC so it provides you with the chance to relive the excitement of April when the world’s best came to town!
