Amman, Jordan: In another indication that organisers of the Jordan Rally are on schedule to deliver a world class event from April 1-3, the supplementary regulations have been posted on line early, at the same time that a call has gone out for more Jordanians to get involved.
The posting of the regulations, which means the entry book is now open for the FIA World Rally Championship and Middle East Rally Championship events, came two weeks ahead of the required deadline and will give the organisers an early indication of how many cars will be travelling to compete.
And while the administrative and technical side continues ahead of schedule, a call has gone out for more volunteers to welcome the world for what promises to be the Kingdom’s biggest sporting and social event of the year.
“It is the volunteers that make the event successful and what better way for Jordanians to showcase their country to the world than by being involved in its biggest event,” said Khaled Zakaria, Jordan Rally clerk of the course.
Anyone interested should contact Jordan Motorsport by sending an email to info@jordanrally.com with a brief description of themselves and a contact number. They must be aged 18 or over.
The supplementary regulations can be viewed at www.jordanrally.com which is also showing Rally Guide One, an early insight into what shape and form the event will take.
Jordan hosts the third round of both the WRC and MERC, meaning the very best drivers in the world will compete on the same weekend as the region’s leading lights. While the WRC takes place over three days, the Middle East segment will comprise of the stages from Day two and three.
The event will be centred at the Dead Sea with a majority of the stages running through the Jordan Valley and Dead Sea areas.
