Do you know that..

Dead sea is the lowest place on earth.

The 1997 Jordan Rally witnessed the least difference between 1st and 2nd place among all Jordan Rallies where Mohammad bin Sulayyem (Ford) was only 23 seconds faster than Abdullah Bakhashab(Toyota) ?

Jordanain driver Ahmad Al Dawood and Co-driver Malek Al Hariri registered the top position among Jordanian participants in the 1998 Jordan Rally when they came in at 4th overall and 2nd among class N cars? They were driving a Ford Escort RS Cosworth at the time.

Mohammad Bin Sulayyem's' 9th Jordan Rally win in 1999 was 21.30 minutes away from his nearest competitor? Omani Nizar Al Shanfari was an N class car while Sulayyem drove a Ford Escort WRC.

Mohammad Bin Sulayyem said jokingly at the end of the 1999 Jordan Rally,"If you wish that a Jordanian win the title, then all you have to do is grant me Jordanian citizenship".

The Finish podium of the Jordan Rally from 1995 (when maaroof Abu Samra finished 3rd) till 2004 was void of any Jordanian driver in 1st, 2nd or 3rd place?

Jordanian co-driver Khaled Zakaria entered history through the Jordan Rally in 2001 when he stood next Mohammad bin Sulayyem at the 1st position ramp at the finish podium? Zakaria also win the middle East co-drivers title at the end of the season. He stood on the podium for the 5th consecutive time in 2004. He arrived in 2nd with Michel Saleh in 2000, 3rd in 2002 with Emirati Sheikh Abdullah Qasimi and 1st with compatriot Amjad Farrah in 2004. The 2004 win was the first ever jordanian driver and co-driver in the history of the Jordan Rally which started in 1981.

A Royal Welcome

Welcome to the Jordan Rally, which will host the third round of the 2013 FIA Middle East Rally Championship from May 9 - 11.

Jordan has become established as the Arab World’s home for rallying after three successful FIA World Rally Championship events since 2008, and while we are taking a breather from the WRC for the time being, we look forward to staging a world-class regional event.
